Hitting All The Right Notes

From theme parties to live concerts & famous DJs

Anyone who was anyone in the music biz during the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s was on the front cover of Melody Maker magazine: Mick Jagger, John Lennon, Bob Marley, Kurt Cobain -- the list is endless. And now, anyone who is anyone in the superstar DJ camp is winging it to Melody Maker Cancun to perform at the five-star music-themed resort.

Named after the iconic British weekly music magazine, the resort -- formerly the ME Cancun by Melia -- is billed as the world’s premier multi-sensory hotel and concert venue.

The 679-room resort attracts superstar DJs and performers from across the globe, such as Afrojack, Armin Van Buuren, David Guetta, Dillon Francis, Elrow, Maná, Steve Aoki and Tiësto. Offering its guests complimentary entry to these concerts gives Melody Maker a serious competitive edge with its music-loving millennial clientele.

Clandestino night club

With its ‘Vegas-meets-Cancun’ vibe, the property also boasts two pulsing day-and-nightlife venues: the Delirio Day Club, with its numerous cabanas and day beds, and the underground, retro-style Clandestino Night Club, so there’s always somewhere for music-loving clients to hear some fine tunes.

“Music is everywhere you go on resort,” smiled Francisco Gamez, business development manager for Canada for Melody Maker Cancun. “There are professional musicians in the restaurants and bars, as well as some great parties at the pool and at the Delirio Beach Club. We have live music every night, from the soft music in our restaurants to the live DJs in our outdoor restaurant and our parties at Clandestino Night Club.”

This winter, Melody Maker Cancun took its live performances up a notch with a world first.

“This winter we’ve had a series of concerts from famous artists like Tiësto and Steve Aoki,” added Gamez. “They used our new projector technology that uses the whole hotel as a screen. It’s the world’s largest video-projection mapping technology and it covers 54,000-square-feet. With the DJs and all the special effects, the concerts were just fantastic, so we’re going to start that concert series up again this coming November.”

Aside from its entertainment program and top-tier concert schedule, Melody Maker Cancun offers its guests a balance between luxurious pampering and a healthy lifestyle. The resort features a 24-hour fitness centre, a luxury spa, idyllic oceanfront yoga sessions, a beachside boot camp, water aerobics classes and health-focused dining options at the resort’s chic Asian fusion-style eatery, Botanico.
