Ocean by H10 is more than great properties

If your clients loved their Ocean by H10 Hotels experience in Cuba, why not recommend one of its other properties in Mexico and the D.R. for their next trip?

The eight-property brand, 35%-owned by Canadian travel leader Transat, is a relatively new force in the hyper-competitive all-inclusive market. Ocean’s Anna Jimenez Oliveras says awareness is improving quickly among Canadian travellers and agents, but there’s still lots of room for growth.

“I believe our brand has a very good recognition in Canada, especially with regard to the Cuban market, which is so popular with Canadians. But agents sometimes get focused on one resort that they know and love, and I want them to know that their clients can hop from hotel to hotel in the Ocean brand and enjoy the same amazing combination of price, value and experience.”

It’s a good point, as many Canadians develop loyalty to products that exceed their expectations. Not wanting to take risks with their precious vacation time, some will return to the same resort year after year, while others find a brand that fits their desires and follow it to different destinations.

“I feel that the Canadian market knows the names of specific hotels, but the actual brand Ocean by H10 Hotels is not there yet – our mandate is to lift up the brand to levels where our partners will be able to recognise the brand and all the line-up within it,” Oliveras says.

The Ocean by H10 brand enjoys strong positive reviews from satisfied guests.

With future resorts planned in the Dominican Republic’s increasingly popular Ubero Alto area near Punta Cana (summer 2018) and Canadian favourite Montego Bay, Jamaica (2019), the Ocean by H10 brand will continue to grow.

Oliveras says customer complaints are minimal following stays at Ocean resorts, and the brand enjoys positive reviews on sites like TripAdvisor. Ocean Maya Royale, for example, has earned TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence every year since 2011. Ocean properties have also won distinctions from Booking.com and Hotels.com among others, for the quality of guest reviews.

After 4 years with Ocean by H10, Oliveras says she’s excited by how the company continues to grow and send increasing numbers of travellers home happy after a satisfying vacation. She encourages agents to make sure that resorts know if there’s a special reason for their stay.

“We always encourage agents to communicate with us. If you’re sending someone down who is celebrating an anniversary or other occasion, make sure we know. We’re always happy to do the little things that make the clients’ experience that much better. Let us celebrate with your clients and it will reflect so well on you.”
