The Newly Reopened Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar

The ultimate adult-only Escape Experience

For many clients, the epitome of the word "vacation" is a lavish all-inclusive retreat sans kiddos.

Fulfilling that exact desire is the newly refurbished adults-only Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, which recently reopened on 1NOV, 2018.

The five-star, 528-room beachfront resort was completely closed down throughout last summer for a US$26 million revamp. All rooms, restaurants and pools were completely refurbished, a fitness centre was added and 144 deluxe swim-up suites were created on the ground floor, providing direct access from room to pool.

In its first few months of operation, the property enjoyed 94% occupancy and a significant bump in guest satisfaction.

As a Bahia Luxury category hotel, guests can expect that "extra" in the level of service and amenities – and when you're on vacation, it's perfectly okay to be a little "extra."

With five restaurants and three bars, clients have a wide culinary offering to choose from.

The semi-formal Portofino Italian Restaurant serves traditional Italian cuisine, while steak house restaurant M.E.A.T. is the perfect option for those craving grilled meats and savoury sides. The gourmet Limbo Restaurant offers a high-end cuisine in an elegant, sophisticated setting.

And with Luxury-category guests having access to the facilities at the other Bahia Principe Luxury and Grand properties in PUJ, the dining options really are endless.

As an ‘Escape Experience’ property, the Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar has curated distinct food, drink and entertainment activities to enhance a client's stay, including wine tasting with a sommelier, mixology classes, and artists performing throughout the day and evening.

But with the Bahia Spa and plenty of intimate nooks ready to welcome guests as they de-stress and unwind, it's really up to the guest as to how active they want their stay to be.

At Ambar, guests can truly live a carefree time away from home with a variety of shows and events, from beach barbecues, dance classes, all-white attire parties, full moon party and karaoke sing-offs.

A particularly novel experience is the silent disco, says Sal Buccellato, National Accounts Director with Bahia Principe Hotels and Resorts.

"Guests arrive at a designated area and everybody is given headsets. Then the music is transmitted to everyone's headsets," he explains. "So everybody's on the beach dancing, having a great time, you take off your headset, and you hear everybody singing, but you don’t hear the music."
