ACV’s Spotlight Collection focuses on the exclusive offers your clients want

Travel advisors know all too well that there are more sunny AI choices than ever before -- hundreds of them -- with more complicated inclusions to keep track of.

As clients shop around for the best offer, Air Canada Vacations has stepped up its game to help you stand out from the crowd.

The Spotlight Collections, launched last year, is a key initiative in that direction.

“There’s starting to be a buzz with the Spotlight Collections,” says ACV Product Manager Teresa Pereira.

“We launched the Spotlight Collections last year, offering amazing exclusive benefits and added-value inclusions – for the same price -- at specific hotel groups and resorts,” says Teresa Pereira, an ACV Product Manager. “We negotiated with our partners for the things that travellers want most, like preferred room location, free WiFi and more a la carte dinners. We really zone in on what the customer is looking for, and our partners came through.”

Pereira says that in the first year, agents were trying to understand all the benefits of the Spotlight Collections. As the selling season for winter 2017/2018 gets underway, she believes “there’s starting to be a buzz.”

“We have an amazing air product – both mainline and Rouge – and we have the ability for our passengers to earn and redeem Aeroplan Miles, including bonus Aeroplan Miles for those who book Spotlight Collections packages,” Pereira says.

“And we have what everyone is looking for, that little something extra. The added-values we offer with Spotlight are not fluff, they’re substantial, and as well as the key ones I mentioned before, we have others that vary by resort and destination, little extras that can be the difference in closing the sale for some clients.”

For Rick McCauley, Director of Sales and Marketing for Barceló Hotels & Resorts in Canada, the ACV Spotlight Collections accomplish the objective of making the properties he represents stand out, both with agents and consumers.

Barceló and Occidental have their own niche among the ACV Spotlight Collections, with the Sapphire Collection exclusively featuring 9 different Barceló and Occidental resorts.

“There are so many destinations, so many AI resorts,” says McCauley. “With the Sapphire Collection we give the client more with no extra cost. That gives the agent a really tangible thing to sell on. And ACV has a very good reputation with agents, so it’s a win-win.”
