Grand Bahia Principe Aquamarine

New name, new look, new experiences

If you have clients who want adult-only fun in the sun, Punta Cana will be serving up a whole new concept in adult-only accommodation this fall.

On 1NOV the property currently operating as the Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar Green will become the Grand Bahia Principe Aquamarine.

The name change is part of Bahia Principe’s portfolio rebrand, as the hotelier reclassifies its properties into four categories and distinct experiences. Fueled by activity-based fun, the Grand Bahia Principe Aquamarine falls into brand’s ‘Grand’ category and its ‘Escape’ experience.

The 498-room property, which only opened in 2015, hasn’t required any major refurbishments as part of the rebranding, but now has a razor-sharp focus on providing “fun and relaxation in an adults-only atmosphere.”

“This has always been an active type of property because the huge pool is at the very centre of the property,” explained Gavin Jimenez, national accounts manager at Bahia Principe. “The pool is at the heart of all the action at the Grand Bahia Principe Aquamarine, so we have a lot of clients who are interested in taking part in activities.”

Despite the rename, the property is still retaining the amenities and charms that have made it such a big hit with Canadian clients.

“The Aquamarine is adults-only, so nothing is changing in terms of the age limit,” added Jimenez. “Our guests love that it’s relatively new and that it has large and spacious rooms. We have done some work in the public areas and we've added a sports bar and a gym, as well as an extra a la carte dining option, but 1NOV is mainly about the name change and new branding.”

So, who exactly should agents be targeting for the renamed property?

“It's a very active resort, so it caters to people who are looking to have fun and maybe want to experience a Miami or Las Vegas-style hotel,” said Jimenez. “It going to be offering something very new and different for Bahia Principe: theme nights. We’re going to have gastronomic nights if you’re a foodie, or cocktail nights where we’ll teach you how to make cocktails. There will also be music and shows based around different themes, as well as pool parties. It’s a really busy hotel, but it's a lot of fun.”

The rebranding also means that your clients can now access sister properties, the Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana, Grand Bahia Principe Bavaro and Grand Bahia Principe Turquesa. However, the guests staying at those three hotels do not have access to the Grand Bahia Principe Aquamarine.
