The Transat Seal Of Approval

Grand Palladium, TRS & Transat – packaged for success

For travel industry veteran and Transat Product Director Brenda McInerney, it’s the little things that elevate an all-inclusive experience. Having recently returned from a visit to the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton in Jamaica, Palladium Hotel Group gets it right.

“The property has been recently renovated and looks great. That’s the physical part. But they’ve also added room service and waiter service at all pools. They’ve invested millions in adding staff and training staff,” McInerney told Open Jaw.

“Just before I was checking out I had a knock on the door and it was the maid saying that she hoped I enjoyed my stay and would come back. I found all the staff to be very attentive. It was subtle, but very nice. They have really invested in quality.”

Quality is what is promised by Transat’s Distinction Collection, which is home to several Grand Palladium properties under the ‘Imperial Club’ designation, including Lady Hamilton, the Grand Palladium Vallarta Resort & Spa, Grand Palladium Bavaro Suites Resort & Spa and the Grand Palladium Kantenah Resort & Spa.

Imperial Club bookings for these properties come with tangible direct benefits including:

  • Direct transfers between the airport and complex
  • Unlimited à la carte dinners, or priority reservations for 5 guaranteed dinners/week
  • Unlimited select international and premium brand drinks
  • Separate check-in
  • $1,250 per room resort credit
  • Beach towels, bathrobes & slippers
  • Fruit platter upon arrival
  • Concierge service with direct phone line
  • Private cocktail party with hot and cold hors d’oeuvres
  • Spa discounts

McInerney points out that several Grand Palladium properties are part of Transat’s Family Collection as well, including Grand Palladium Palace Resort as well as the Lady Hamilton, Kantenah and Vallarta properties. As well as underlining the fact that they offer specific family-friendly amenities, membership in Transat’s Family Collection means the resort offers one child free in high season, two free during the summer.

The Transat Product Director says Palladium Hotel Group’s initiative to establish TRS Hotels as a distinct brand “is a really good strategic move” that will raise the visibility of an excellent product.

“It’s smart to separate that product out so people understand what it is – a higher-end, adults-only experience. The fact is that the vast majority of adults-only clients are looking for 5-star properties. That makes it an easier sell for agents, and having distinctive branding will help them stand out.”

TRS Hotels as a distinct brand "is a really good strategic move."

McInerney says she won’t be surprised to see TRS Hotels in Transat’s Luxury Collection in the years to come. She points to TRS Yucatan as an example.

“When the renovations and upgrades are complete in time for this winter season, it’s going to be a stunning property. So will the TRS resort currently under construction in Costa Mujeres. There is no doubt that these will be products we will want to sell and they would be a very good fit for our Luxury Collection.”

For her part, Palladium Hotel Group National Sales Director, Canada, Sonia Casaubon says she’s counting on Transat and Canadian travel professionals to make sure clients know about the major upgrade and elevated service levels at both Grand Palladium and TRS Hotels.

“There’s a big job to be done and we’re counting on Transat and using as many tools as possible to reach as many agents as possible. We have a great story to tell.”
