‘I Do’ Is Only The Beginning

From pre-wedding site inspections to niche nuptials, AMResorts does it all

AMResorts Weddings

You asked for it – now you’ve got it. AMResorts has launched the ‘Love at First Site’ program, enabling couples planning a wedding to travel to their resort of choice and explore the unique offerings that will make their destination wedding vision a reality.

“Destination wedding specialists have been asking for this for a long time,” says Carlo Trinidad, Business Development Manager, Western Canada. “We’re really happy to announce it’s now happening. And we’ve opened it up to couples who have already booked their wedding because we’ve had requests for that too. But the gist is to help agents secure new wedding bookings, because seeing is believing.”

  • A personalized meeting with the resort’s dedicated wedding coordinator, to explore cake, decorating, music and menu options.
  • A dedicated site inspection of the host resort, where couples will see all ceremony, cocktail party, reception and rehearsal dinner locations.
Plus, couples will receive credit to use towards wedding extras for wedding events, bachelorette party and honeymoon if booked 30 days of return date. The details:
  • If the wedding date is booked within 30 days of site inspection return date, the couple will receive a $500 credit for wedding extras (for groups with minimum 45 rooms nights cumulative).
  • If the couple books their honeymoon within 30 days of return date, they will receive a $100 credit to use towards their minimum 7-night stay.
  • If a couple books their bachelor/bachelorette party, the couple will receive a $200 credit to use towards their stay (minimum 9 room nights cumulative).

There’s a 3-night maximum stay, offered May through December at all AMResorts brands and properties. Prices are very reasonable – for example $160 per person, per night for SEPT-DEC stays at Zoëtry, $100 at Secrets and Breathless, $90 at Dreams and Now and $75 at Sunscapes.

That’s not all that’s new on the wedding front at AMResorts. Here are a couple more enhancements to keep in mind.

Dulha & Dulhan Wedding Package – A South Asian Alternative

Dreams Beach Wedding

AMResorts was a pioneer in catering to the South Asian market with the Shaadi wedding package, an elaborate, 6-event occasion for up to 75 guests. Now, based on feedback from agents and the South Asian community, the resort leader has created a less elaborate package dubbed the Dulha & Dulhan Wedding Package.

“The Shaadi wedding package offers great value, but feedback told us that some South Asian couples were looking for a less elaborate destination wedding that would fit their budget more comfortably,” says Trinidad. “So, we introduced the Dulha & Dulhan package and we’ve definitely gained a lot more traction.”

For a price of US$7,500 USD for up to 50 quests and US$11,999 for up to 100 guests, wedding groups enjoy incentives including:

  • Every 5th room free (up to 10 complimentary rooms)
  • 1 complimentary upgrade for every 10 paid rooms
  • $100 in resort coupons per guest
  • Private group check-in

The package is offered at: Dreams La Romana Resort & Spa; Dreams Punta Cana Resort & Spa; Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana; Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa; Dreams Sands Cancun Resort & Spa; Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa; Dreams Puerto Aventuras Resort & Spa and Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort

LGBT Weddings

With same-sex marriages now legal and having the same requirements as other couples in Mexico’s Quintana Roo, AMResorts was able to open several more properties to this market. The company now offers LGBT weddings in every destination except Jamaica and Dominican Republic.

Trinidad says a trend is for more LGBT weddings at AMResorts family properties, because kids are just as prevalent at those ceremonies as any other.
